On November 16, 2016, the test bench for testing of aerosol and aerosol-iodine filters supplied to nuclear industry facilities was certified. The bench was designed by FSUE “VNIIFTRI (Russian research institute of physical-technical and radiotechnical measurements)” – one of the leading national metrology institutes of Russia.

The project was implemented with the support of the Foundation for Assistance to Innovations.

PAIF test bench was developed to improve the control of aerosol filters cleaning efficiency from aerosols of different origin by the most penetrating particles, as well as to test the resistance to airflow of the produced filters.

The most powerful in the world nuclear icebreaker “Arctic” was launched at Baltic shipbuilding plant (Baltiyskiy Zavod) in St. Petersburg.

It will become the leading ship of 22220 design according to which it is planned to build a group of nuclear icebreakers to explore the Arctic and consolidate Russia’s position in it.

The Baltic plant shall manufacture three nuclear ships of 22220 design.
